EDIBLE IDAHO
"Faith & Food "

Sisters Katie & Wilma picking raspberries

A Bucket of Raspberries

The Monastery of St. Gertrude, north of Grangeville, is surrounded by some of the most beautiful country central Idaho has to offer. To the west, there's pine forest; to the south, the Salmon River; to the east, the golden Camas prairie. It's no wonder that the Benedictine sisters of St. Gertrude feel a close connection to the land. In this installment of Edible Idaho, correspondent Guy Hand looks at how the sister's express that connection through faith—and food.
